I don't nurse in public much, I'm just not out enough with LO to have that many opportunities. I've never covered up though, sometimes I'll put an A&A blanket over my shoulder but I don't cover her. She flails her arm anyway so a cover wouldn't last long lol.

She's sooo distractible right now at 4-5 mo that I prefer to feed her at home or find a private place because she likes to pull off to look around at the world upside-down, just leaving my nipple out there hanging out all alone.

@ScarletBegonia: yes same in Melbourne. I actually wrote my comment before I read yours. We all just get the boobs out here but you would be suprised on how much you actually don't show when breastfeeding. You can't really see anything but also no one should be staring at your boobs while doing it too. I've been breastfeeding 2 kids for 2.5 yrs now and never once felt uncomfortable or the need to use a toilet. I absolutely refuse to anyway.

I don't flinch if I see someone nursing without a cover, I just always used one. They are annoying, and I've tried everything from a Dria cover to an A&A blanket, and everything tended to be a wild arm/leg battle. And sweaty bc my LO is always hot, she has her Daddy's hot blood:) But I just made the best of it, ducking in private places or back to the car if I could.

I never use a cover. And see a lot of women without covers. Actually id hardly see any covers around here but we are much less conservative here in Melbourne than the US I think.

I hardly ever use a cover...Sydney is a very boob friendly city and I've never felt uncomfortable nursing at coffee shops, pubs, etc. I do have a couple of infinity scarves that lend themselves well to a bit of coverage, so if I happen to be wearing one I will sometimes drape it over my sons head.

I used an A&A blanket around FIL because I felt awkward without it in front of him. Other than that I didn't use a cover, but at around 3-4 months old LO wouldn't eat with anyone around so I had to seek out quiet, private areas.

No, I am a very modest person so I use a cover. I honestly wish I could get over it and just nurse openly but it's just not me, I don't mind others nursing without a cover.

I will hopefully be nursing our LO when she's born and do intend on using a cover. My boobs are pretty large and not at all perky so I'm not confident in my baby handling and boob positioning skills. I would just be more comfortable. If she ends up hating it I'll find a place where I can nurse in private.

I used an A&A blanket at first, but when LO started pulling at it all the time, I mostly stopped. I tried using a cover a few times, but I felt it drew more attention than not using anything. Now, LO is so distracted, I rarely nurse in public and try to find a quiet room.

I do usually use a cover unless I'm in a pretty nursing friendly place (for example, we went to a lake in Seattle a few weeks ago - everyone is pretty crunchy there so I nursed without a care in front of a ton of people...it was liberating haha)

I'm usually coverless, because ain't nobody got time for that :silly: Seriously, though, I've tried and decided it wasn't really making a difference. I don't have any special nursing bras or clothes, either, because they all seem expensive and don't fit me right, so I don't think I'm terribly discreet either way.. With men who aren't dads or in the middle of restaurants I'm more apt to cover, but usually it's like a marginal effort using a napkin or my hand or something, lol.
