I don't ... I might do it more if not for our super-creaky old wood floors. I would hate to wake him!

We bought a video monitor b/c my husband was obsessive about checking up on my son when he was a newborn...even now at 31 months he still constantly turns it on to see if he's okay, especially when he's sick. Highly recommend a video monitor for new mothers. They make some really nice ones these days. Our is not in production anymore but the video clarity rocks.

I have a video monitor and I still go to her room to check. Especially now she has her first cold I get so nervous so I go check or my husband does.

Yep. I definitely do, more so int he beginning though. I checked on her after every.single.sound. A few weeks went by though and I was able to kinda discern what each sound was and know that it wasn't bad. She happens to be a nosy sleeper! I still wake up often just to look in on her, but that's more because she's just so freakin' cute!

I peek every time I walk by. I have a friend who's son died from SIDS, so I'm paranoid.

We have a video monitor so I look at that so we don't have to go into the room. In the early days I have gone in to reswaddle when it looked like it was covering some of her face.

Yup. They say you are less obsessive with babies after the first, but not for me. I've seen too much happen to patients at the hospital that I'm always checking up on her.

My lo is four months old and I had to stop checking because she's such a light sleeper, my checking on her 80 times a night always startled her. Now I wish I had a video monitor, even though her room is a two second walk away!

Our newborn never let us put her down, until she was six weeks, so I didn't have to obsessively check her. :) But once I was able to put her down, she was in our room until 5 months or so, and she was a snorer so I never had to wonder if she was okay!

I used to obsessively check when LO slept for more than 5 hours at night because it was so rare, I thought she had died. But now it's the norm (yay!) so I'm good now. :)

When I put baby Olive down, I get so nervous that I swaddled her wrong or that somehow something will cover her mouth and prevent her from breathing. So I tend to obsessively check on her for the first 20 minutes or so after I put her down.

After that time elapses, I relax a bit more. But it still makes me very nervous. I realize that it's not very rational. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
