I do. And it's particularly bothersome because of her sleep issues. She doesn't sleep as well as she used to so when she actually sleeps for a good stretch, instead of catching up on the rest- I check on her more to make sure she's ok. I am hoping I'll be less OCD about it when she is older. My imaginary cut off age is 1 year. We'll see.

I don't have kids yet but I'm pretty sure I will be watching my kids like a hawk to make sure they are breathing. Asthma runs in our family and DH was diagnosed with asthma at 6 months. His mother found him blue at that age.

Yes! Sometimes she's so still that it's hard to see her breathing. I have to put my hand on her chest to see/feel it go up and down.

Guilty as charged! The other night she had a respiratory pause of about 15 seconds and I felt the need to shake her awake. We are out of SIDS risk age range, but I'm still a complete freak!

Yeah, especially when we cosleep occasionally and now that she's decided sleeping on her belly is the cool thing to do. I almost lose my mind with worry. It doesn't matter how many times I flip her onto her back, she almost immediately faceplants again. I constantly wake up and check on her! I wish I could install a "baby flipper" into the crib mattress

I used to when LO was small but now I only do it if her naps are longer than 2.5 hours or if she sleeps longer than an 8-hour stretch at night (very rare).

She's almost 6 months old and we still do that. My husband even puts his hand on her chest if he can't see her pj's going up and down from her breathing.

Only a few times when my LO was really sick I would worry and check out the video monitor. I always figured that if my LO really did stop breathing, by the time I actually noticed it...it would be too late. Horrible thought but makes the most logical sense to me.

We did this all the time with Charlie, our first baby! For Olive, we only did it for the first few months since she was a bit of a preemie.

I've noticed though that we're less obsessively worried about whether or not Olive is still breathing and alive. I guess we learned the hard way that worrying all the time didn't necessarily help anyone out. :-) I am just grateful that our first baby wasn't a preemie, or we may have passed out from the stress!
