I can still read and understand it decently though. I understand French pretty well but don't have the confidence in speaking it much yet. </p> <p>DH's first language is French, he speaks Spanish pretty well, he lived in Italy in elementary school and was fluent for awhile when they returned but he can't even understand it now. But mostly now he's lost a lot of the speaking, and just understands it well. He is a chef and works in a kitchen, where there are lots of french terms, so that has helped reignite it. Plus, he's been learning Spanish. (A class, rosetta stone, and having his coworkers teach him.) A few people he works with are I believe Cajun- they speak french but aren't French- maybe Haitian? - anyway he helps communicate with them too. I think it's so cool he has the tools to better communicate with them. I took Spanish four years in high school, but lost most of it by now.<br /> I studied in Greece and could communicate decently in modern Greek, but I'm really rusty know. </p> <p>I was fascinated with languages when I was little and learned lots of songs in different languages. I can sing songs in Russian, Spanish, Mandarin, Greek, French, and German.</p> <p>I'm taking ASL classes this summer.
