It depends. If I'm making the effort, I can pack pretty well. But if I'm in rush, I'll just throw in everything.

Yes. Though when we traveled last time, I noticed that I didn't wear half the stuff I packed for myself. So I definitely slimmed down on what I pack for myself. For the twins, I like to be prepared so yes, I overpack.

Not any more, I make a spreadsheet that accounts for number of days and activities we are doing and I pack accordingly.

Yes, but have gotten better. I'm always scared I wont' have enough clothes, like they would actually go through 2-3 outfits a day...not likely! Or if I didn't pack a pants/jacket it would suddenly drop 40 degrees ;)

For my girls...a little bit. They like to have choices, and it's not worth the tantrum if I didn't bring someone's bunny slippers or favorite tutu! We are going away this week though and I've got all four of our clothes packed into one suitcase (not counting shoes for DH and me). I'm pretty pleased with myself!

I used to, but we travel enough now that I've really gotten it down! I still overpack some for LO, but her clothes are so small it isn't a big deal :silly: She and I always share 1 suitcase traveling, so I've gotten very disciplined about packing correctly for myself.

Um. I almost always overpack. This time we are at my folks and I didn't overpack a thing and we are staying a couple extra days. Thankfully I can do laundry here. 😳

I usually do. I would just rather bring a few extra things that might make our lives that much easier, especially since traveling and staying at a non baby proofed house is so much more difficult already. Now that we have the baby I've gotten better at streamlining what I pack for the toddler though.

For myself I throw in some clothes and underwear and call it a day though.

DH does but I usually don't. Except for food and snacks, I over pack those because that's what makes the drives bearable.

Yes. But just because she has so many cute outfits- we do lots of regional driving trips. If we fly I do better.

ALWAYS! The longer the trip, the more I overpack. We came back from a 2 week Asia trip, and DS has his small suitcase filled with 3 days worth of clean clothes. I didn't even intend to overpack! I hate it. Just that every time if I pack just right, like just one set of spare clothes, there will be 3 accidents and he'd be rolling in mud and walking in heavy rain or something and we won't have enough clothes.

I'm pretty good at packing. But on our last trip I brought so many snacks that they lasted the entire 2.5 weeks and some even made it back with us. Next time, fewer snacks!

We're leaving for 7 days on the coast (with a night in a hotel room on either side) and I haven't started packing, but I have 3 pages of lists...

So, yes. I'm trying really hard not to (we can do laundry), but I'm already adding crazy things to my list. It's a compulsion! I'm better when we fly, but in the car--throw it in there!

I always overpack but I've gotten much better over the years! :-) I don't overpack when I know we can do laundry at my parent's house.

When you are traveling with your kids, do you tend to overpack? We are going away this weekend and I am making an effort to not overpack. I am bringing just what I think we really need and not a lot of the extra stuff. Here is to hoping I can stick to that and not think of a bunch of other things I think I may need for them!
