I had a microwave one and I used it every night. It was easier than boiling and it gave me peace of mind. I recently gifted it to a friend who had a baby.

I had the microwave bags with my first but she had constant thrush. Boiling was a bit better but this time I will get an electric sterilizer.

@alphagam84: the dishwasher does sterilize your utensils. Atleast all the ones I have used do that

We've only ever hand-washed or used the dishwasher for the bottles and parts. I think sterilizing them is a gimmick. We don't sterilize our utensils so why would we need to for a baby unless they had a health issue?

I had the microwave one and used it once. My baby nurses (NICU nurses) said hand wash with hot water or dishwasher was fine (plastic playtext bottles, exclusively FF)

I never sterilized. The NICU nurses said washing in hot, soapy water was just fine.

The microwave one is super easy and we have that. Used it a lot with DS1 as we were paranoid but I’ve only used it once or twice with DS2. Little bit of water, lock lid and like 3 mins in the microwave. If you think you want to sterilize often, it was only like $20.

I voted for stove top but in all honesty, I boiled before first use but didn't sterilize after that.

I'm not a big sterilizer. I think I boiled all of them before first use and then I would occasionally microwave steam bag my pump parts. I would also steam bag after a sickness.

I did have a dedicated sterilizer, because we had to use a ton of chemicals in the dishwasher for our hard water and we didn't have a microwave.

I had a plastic microwave sterilizer but only sterilized before first use. Then we washed regularly in the dishwasher on sanitize mode.

For my 1st two kiddos I just used boiling water on the stove to sterilize parts and bottles. But I didn't sterilize very often. I'm wondering whether I should invest in an electric sterilizer or the plastic reusable microwave sterilizer. I had thought about the microwave bags but I'd rather use something more reusable.
