She wouldn't even let the coroner perform an autopsy after his death because of her traditional Chinese beliefs. It is written in her will that DH and I get to go to Hawaii to do this if FIL has already passed. It is very meaningful and important to her that her ashes are spread in the water there. We tease her all the time that she needs to die so we can have a honeymoon. :silly:<br /> My FIL is a very simple man. He wants to be cremated as well, but nothing special done with his ashes. We asked if he was sure and he said "well it won't really matter at that point will it?" It's hard because all his family that have passed are buried at the same cemetery locally. But my dad is buried North of the city and I know that's where all my family will be. The Feng shui of my dad's final resting spot is beautiful. It's in the hills with open air on all sides.<br /> DH family is buried in a congested city lot. Not where I want my final resting place to be. </p> <p>DH &amp; I definitely want to be buried together. </p> <p>Cremation is not for me. We've attended a few funerals recently so this came to mind. My parents bought burial plots in my hometown when they were in their 40s but eventually decided to sell them because they lost their attachment to that place over time. I would love to be buried in my hometown near my family but I will probably be buried in my DH's hometown! When we first moved here I told my husband no way was I going to rest eternally here! But over time I have come to accept it. </p>
