We're not big into presents (DH and I haven't even bought each other gifts) and since she's not really interested in stuff yet, we didn't bother. She'll have presents to open from grandparents anyway.</p> <p>Our plan for future holidays and birthdays is to loosely follow the adage 'one thing they want, one thing they need, one thing to wear, and one thing to read'. This year it was a train set from ikea, which is for my husband as much as her. Then for her second we got her a play kitchen with all the food and stuff. Then for last year and this year we got her a few of the things that she has been wanting for a while. I never got any big gifts growing up since we were a family of 6 and money was usually tight. I don't know if we'll continue with the big gifts because it's getting expensive with two LO's now! </p>
