You trade in each year and when they turn 18, you get to keep a pair of skis or snowboard. It's just the mechanics of the equipment that make it hard. However, we're getting our daughter on skis this year at the age of 2. I grew up in a town with 3 different ski resorts, and was out on the mountains with my dad before I was walking. I have been skiing since age 2. My parents still live there and it is a huge part of what they do, so I am sure that each winter we will enroll future LOs in ski school. </p> <p>I loved family outings on the slopes! DH learned to snowboard a few years ago, and he's pretty fearless. If my kids are anything like me, teaching them something like that myself will not work well. :) I think most ski schools let kids starting at 3 enroll. We will probably get them private lessons each time we go from the time they are tiny so they just grow up knowing what they are doing.
