We will definitely will support them in coming up with their own ideas and projects to help others, and then we'll let them lead and help them accomplish it. I was talking about this with my friend recently b/c we feel that our kids have it so good compared to when we were kids. I used to volunteer all the time growing up and my mom was/is on the board of many non-profit organizations as well so I would love to involve my kids as they grow up as well. As for what type, not sure yet. It'll have to depend on what's available in our county and at what age as well. Maybe helping serve food in a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving, helping out at an animal shelter, participating in a community garden... I really want them to understand how lucky they are, and how good it feels to help others. Do you plan on volunteering with your LO's? What type of volunteering?
