As long as we get to our destination by bedtime (an hour or so late is fine). For us, bedtime flights were the worst because she's so excited by all this stuff going around her that she won't fall asleep. Instead she'll stay up as long as possible, have a meltdown and sleep for 1 hour. I like morning flights best because the kids are happy, but barring that, it's anybody's guess how it would go. But, let's say I had a scheduled toddler with the same moods as my son, then I would def do mornings! He is beastly from 6pm on. Nights aren't his thing. The kid only sleeps well in a bed (doesn't matter which bed) but it has to be in a bed. The airplane/airport only jazzes him up. The flight is about 5 1/2 hours long. Alas there are only flights at 2pm or 6:30pm, and the 2pm flight costs more. What time of day do you prefer flying with kids? Would you take the 2pm flight or the 6:30pm flight with two kids (1 1/2 and 3 1/2)? ETA: i think bedtime works better for infants. the last time we made this trip at 6:30pm, Charlie did not not sleep a wink, and Olive slept 20 minutes. She was 10 months and he was 2 1/2.
