I love a good B&B, but my husband isn't a fan. He doesn't like breakfast food (the horror) and he certainly doesn't like making small talk with strangers. I don't like the idea of chatting with strangers, or having to be up for breakfast at a certain time with the innkeeper. And most especially, if we are looking for a romantic weekend away I don't want to feel like I have worry about squeaky beds or the like because I know I'll be sharing quiche with the couple next door the next morning. I've been to quite a few B&Bs and had both good and bad experiences. Nothing terrible happened on our last trip, but it the room was loud/uncomfortable and the experience was super awkward. B&B is great for a romantic weekend, exploring a smaller town, and for mountain getaways, but for larger cities and beach vacations I like hotels and resorts due to location and amenities like pools and restaurants and spas! In reality, I was trying not to puke everywhere from morning sickness and DH was watching House Hunters.
