I can see the appeal sometimes, but it often seems like people have these long drawn out conversations through texting that could be done a lot quicker and more efficiently if they actually spoke to each other. Plus you can't tell tone as easily with a text (or an e-mail), so it's easy to read something into a text that isn't there.</p> <p>The other reason I hate texting is because many people who do it are just RUDE. They'll be hanging out with me in person and then texting their other friends half the time! They wouldn't talk on their phone with their friends while hanging out with me, so they shouldn't be texting them either!
