No, I have never successfully done this. Maybe when they're a little older?

If DH isn't home then yes.

I read to them at the same time and then I have DD wait in her room and look at books while I put DS in bed (Takes about 5 mins) Then I come back and put DD in bed.

Pretty much. They're 27 months and 8 months so they both have bed times between 6:30-7:00 pm, depending on the time they woke from their last nap. I get DD1 ready for bed first, minus brushing her teeth, then she sits down to play whilst I get DD2 ready for bed. DD2 is usually over everything by the time I finish getting her jammies on so I nurse her straightaway, but not to sleep, then slowly carry her to her room whilst singing a lullaby. Into her cot she goes and she puts herself the rest of the way to sleep, whilst I go back and get DD1, brush her teeth, pop her in bed, read a few stories, snuggle with her for a minute, and then out I go. She usually plays for a little while in bed, or reads some more stories, but she'll put herself to sleep when she's ready.

So from the time I get DD2 in her cot to the time I get DD1 in bed and leave her room is probably 10, maybe 15, minutes.

No. D is easy and just goes to bed when I say it's time. M has to be nursed, rocked and cuddled to get to sleep. once D goes to bed, I start M's routine.

Nope, one always goes down before the other. DD1 needs some rocking before bed and DD2 needs to nurse, so it's kind of impossible to do them at the same time!

Usually DD2 goes down first (tonight she did at 7), but sometimes goes to bed late if she takes an evening cat nap or a really long afternoon nap. So one is usually always waiting for me while I put her sister down.

Yes, I put them to bed at basically the same time. I have done it this way almost since the beginning since DH isn't home to help during the week. They really enjoy doing everything together since that is all they know.

Normally they get a bath together, I get DS2 in pjs while DS1 plays or reads (naked or with a hooded towel) in DS2's room, and then depending on the time we either all go to DS1's room to get him ready (DS2 crawls around and I put a baby gate over the door) or we sit and read a book in DS2's room and then put him to sleep before dealing with DS1.

Lots of naked time for DS1, ha!

Yes, unless DD is stalling about going potty. If I am alone I'll put R down first then go into S's room, sing him his song and put him down. So maybe a 2-3 minute difference.

@mrbee: well he's still not quite a year, so he just toddles around playing and climbs on us while I get his brother ready and read to him. I bathe them both at once. Some nights it's the other way around and DS1 gets to watch a show. DH has helped a lot lately and we've had many nights of simul-bedtimes, too.

I would imagine we might have to put the little one down earlier once he moves to one nap.

Yes, but they are twins and share a room so it's just easiest. Sometimes they are off on schedules and one goes down before the other, though.

It would be a dream to put them down together someday!! They're still too young and I quite enjoy the one on one time I get with them. Big Bro goes down first, then Lil Sis right after.

DH works a lot of nights so I try to bathe the LOs together and then LO 1 helps me put LO 2 down. So 10-15 min difference?

Kinda/Depends. My husband has been traveling a lot recently, and so when I have to do all three bedtimes with no adult help, everyone gets a bath together (DS#1 and DS#2 in the master tub and DD in the master shower), DD then gets the iPad while the boys go upstairs, the boys get stories together, and then DS#1 goes to sleep and DS#2 is nursed and then put down. Then, about 10 minutes after the boys are down DD goes up fro stories and bed.
Gosh, I'm exhausted just typing that and DH is about to leave for two weeks again!

I've had mixed luck with this... sometimes it works great, and other times it blows up in my face and doubles the length of bedtime!

I think if we did bedtime together every night, it would go more smoothly. Maybe we'll start trying that in a few months!
