I like her work advice. When she started blogging about her husband physically abusing her, I had a hard time following along.

I discovered her blog about a year ago and started subscribing. I really like her takes on some issues, and I love that she uses Meyer Briggs references a lot. BUT I agree with @hummusgirl, she gets very one sided and one track-minded and it can be really annoying. Sometimes I fell like she just finds arguments to support the point she's trying to make in that post, even if it conflicts with what she's said in the past. Also, she seems to really dislike Generation Y (most of us here on HB!) and only sings praises of her and her kids' generation. That being said, I do find a lot of her posts really interesting and useful!

@Mrs. Sketchbook: Hmmm.. having done both, work out of the house with a child and now being a homeschooling, sahm, I can totally see where she's coming from! I know not all of "us" feel like this but I do think it's the more common concern as we begin thinking about having children and even moreso after we actually have them and have to re-group our desires & life plans. We should prepare our daughters, especially, for this b/c it is a real reality of what they'll eventually have to decide upon!

(I would love to put the both side of the fence perspective on your post for those who can only be looking at it from their inexperienced stance. tehe)

I'll have to check out some of her other posts! I'm always looking for the perspective of more homeschooling mums!

I read and like her but lately she's gotten kind of annoying, like she thinks there's one right way to do things when really there are lots of careers, kids' temperaments, etc., that make the world not one-size-fits-all.

I guess being an SAHM this didn't resonate as being that controversial to me? I have had to make hard choices. I am applying for jobs right now and it is not easy!

Most of the people who said anything don't have children though!

I don't really but I have spent a few hours on her blog in the past. I happened to link to one of her posts on my Facebook account and people were just livid with me! I feel like she is honest about the realities of work/life balance.

And people who wonder why so many folks only talk about their kids on facebook...it is usually because any time I say anything else, drama follows!
