@nana87: it’s funny because the last time I was game for a spoiler was for Big Little Lies.. I couldn’t stand waiting. My DH thought I was crazy to “ruin” it for myself!

I hate spoilers! But I'm also the person who will receive a birthday present early, but refuse to open it till my actual birthday.

But there's a time limit to spoilers and if I'm behind, which is often lately, I'll still watch it.

Give me all the spoilers!! :silly: I totally will read the last page or scan a paragraph on the last page or chapter to get a feel for what will happen... I dont' know that I read enough to "know, know".. but I do read movie synopses, this is almost more to see if I want to invest the time or not (I don't even have time to watch the shows I want to watch)

The only show that it has ruined for me was the bachelor/bachelorette.. simply bc I think I can put up with the crappy stuff if I don't know but when I knew I totally couldn't watch it.

I do NOT read spoilers, I love the anticipation of not knowing - like Big Little Lies or Gone Girl, knowing the ending would've ruined it! (I do read the books before most movies, but I would never peak at the ending first).

Shows like the Bachelor(ette) I go out of my way NOT to know who gets picked.

I hate spoilers! @MrsRoo: I had an important Game if Thrones death spoiled for me too- though in fairness I was months behind because I had just started watching it late in the game. I held my tongue for weeks watching with DH and when that episode finally aired I exploded telling how it had been spoiled for me!

So yeah I hate spoilers in something I care about. But if it’s somethig I am not invested in I don’t care that much. Like I watched the first several seasons of Gossip Girl then lost interest, but read a recap of the finale out of curiosity.

I don’t, unless it’s really stressful and I want to take the anxiety out of something. Although if I’ve been watching a show and I get spoiled (usually, like, Project Runway) I’ll still watch.

Totally agree. I don't have time to watch tons of seasons of a show for them to finally get around to resolving the plot line! If I'm going to watch it, I want to know what I can skip!

I will also say that I LOATHE suspense. I just can't handle it personally. It keeps me up at night thinking of all the other things that could have happened at that moment and stresses me out. I can always think of worse things than what really happens and it really turns me off on a show/movie. So I do read spoilers. If it looks good enough, I may even watch it to appreciate the artistry and writing that I couldn't have done if I was too focused on the suspense.

I don’t want spoilers of my favorites. If I’m invested, I want to see it with my own eyes.

If I’m only casually watching/reading, then spoilers are fine.

No spoilers at all. My mom reads the last page in books and looks up what happens in movies before she watches them and it drives me absolutely batshit. I don't know that I wouldn't watch something because I heard/read a spoiler, but I avoid them at all costs!

Yes, especially for movies. I know I'm not going to see the movie anyway, but I still want to know what happens. I've only been to the movies twice in the last six years, and both times it was a huge effort to get there and I'm just not doing that again - one movie was a horrible disappointment, and I missed the start and end of the second one because apparently DS is scared of the big screen :bummed:

Definitely, love spoilers! I have a very emotionally high stress job where I listen to tragic stories every day, so I'm very particular about what kinds of TV/movies I watch in my down time. I try hard to avoid anything too emotionally draining, so I rely on googling quite a bit before choosing something to get invested in viewing. I'm fine if I know the ending already, it's the getting there that's interesting to me.

I love spoilers! It never ruins it for me. Esp a lot of times I get so lost just following, sometimes knowing the gist of a show/movie allows me to pay more attention to details!

It really depends for me. If it’s a show that I’m really into it a movie that I’ve been looking forward to, I get really upset if someone spoils it for me! Someone spilled about an important death in GOT less than an hour after the show aired and I hid them from my FB timeline. Lol.

But if it’s something I’m casually into, I am fine with spoilers because then I already know what’s happening so I can watch at my leisure.

I do it but I sometimes regret it! I think as any busy mom it’s just hard to have the time to fully commit to all the watching required to get through to the good parts. So a lot of times I do check a spoiler and then later I can decide if I want to actually watch it. I can’t binge watch and stay up late anymore!

I voted “it depends.” I don’t like spoilers of tv shows or movies but when I’m reading a book I’ll often flip ahead a few pages to see what happens (i don’t usually read the end though). I didn’t even really know I did this until DH pointed it out to me while we were dating.

Settle a (very silly) debate for me!

I’m an impatient person, and I have more time to read than watch tv (hello nursing motn...) I feel a compulsion to know what happens and it doesn’t ruin things for me, I still enjoy watching a tv show or movie and watching things unfold even if I know the end game. Heck, I even read ahead in novels to the last page 😜 maybe I like preparing myself? I even read spoilers or reviews of movies/shows I haven’t watched, it helps me decide if I want to invest the time. So like, I knew the surprise ending of big little lies before starting to watch 🤷‍♀️

Dh thinks I’m nuts, lol. He hates spoilers and will not watch something if it was spoiled because he says it was “ruined” and “what’s the point.”

Where do you fall on this spectrum?
