Any other recyclables we put into the recycling can that gets picked up once a week with our trash. He grew up in an area where they JUST got city provided recycling bins so it is not something he is used to.<br /> The city we live in now picks up recycling and "green waste" once a week and regular garbage every 2 weeks. You are only allowed to put out one garbage bag every 2 weeks unless you have a special tag on it (that you have to purchase from the city) and then they will take upto 3 at a time. We have a blue bin provided by the city that we put all recycleable materials into. We also separate out our bottles (wine, beer and water) because we can redeem them for $. We have big plastic bins we keep the bottles in, save them up and 2 or 3 times a year go and redeem them. I use to be bad at it, but then I made it a game to compete with my neighbor.
