I had this happen to me, too. Kids called me "snowman" because I was "so white". I would say I wasn't even teased much, except in a nice-ish way. I'm not sure why, but even now, things/comments from other people don't bother me much.</p> <p>I can think of 1-2 incidences in my entire life that still bother me, and they were both when I was an adult, and both by random strangers. It definitely affected my already fragile self esteem. </p> <p>Compared to some of the other bullying, I saw as a kid, it wasn't that bad. I didn't have to change schools or anything. Middle school was hell. Not as bad as a lot of kids have had it, but I had nasty rumors spread about me and told I was a slut or worse on a daily basis. It was awful. I really feel for kids these days. I don't think bullying is significantly worse but I don't think kids are more sensitive either. What has changed is social media. Kids no longer have any escape from bullies.
