I got my first pain in college though. I really didn't know what I was missing. Even with a lower prescription It made a world of difference. The biggest thing was seeing the details of leaves on trees that I never really saw before when driving. I had never been to the optometrist before and the dr couldn't believe I had never had glasses. Honestly, I really didn't notice much change. I remember it clearly. I got glasses when I was 14. I also was hugely into wakeboarding then, and I remember the first time I wakeboarded with contacts in I was like....wow, so that's what the lake, the land in the distance, and the boat look like! It had all been a massive blur before. My vision wasn't too bad then, but I distinctly remember seeing individual leaves on trees instead of just a green blob. First of all everything was brighter and the colors were more vibrant! I had one eye a lot worse than the other, and apparently the weaker eye had gotten stronger to compensate, so when I put on glasses I thought the world was on a 30% angle. But pretty quickly after that, my vision deteriorated to the point where I couldn't see almost anything without my glasses!</p> <p>Now that my 5yo needs glasses, I'm wondering if it will have a big impact on his classroom learning. Maybe he hasn't been able to see the blackboard!</p> <p>Do you remember how life changed for you when you first got glasses and could actually see? </p>
