Our major expenses are all fixed, so its mostly an issue of incidentals, so its not a huge deal, but even if we don't write a budget down, DH and I always have regular chats about upcoming expenses (probably at least weekly) so that we are on the same page and have the money ready in our account. Long months (we budget weekly so some are 4 weeks and some are 5), months where we travel, or when we get bonuses or have an unexpected big expense are the only big changes. Job changes would definitely mean a big change. I just depends on what is going on at that particular time. We have done a lot of tweaking lately with a new puppy and all the vet appointments! We have also had some vet appointments for our other dog at the same time. It has been an expensive month for us! It really just depends on our spending that month. Going through and revamping our budget now, big time, seeing as I don't know if I will have a job in a month or two! And the extra expense of another baby.
