We have a forced air system. It doesn't get the humidity up as high as a stand alone humidifier but it really does help. And I think it depends on the size of your home / unit. It's like an add on to your HVAC system.</p> <p>We use the boiler for baseboard heating so dryness is not as big an issue. My husband takes care of them but I know it is a pain to refill and clean.
