I do. I carry Babyganics sanitizing wipes with me and clean tables, seats on the plane, etc.. any where my LO can touch. Omg. I had to go through literally 10 wipes in the airplane. The seat in front of us (just the top part) was FILTHY. lots and lots of dirt.

I don't. I wash my hands often enough that I don't think it's necessary.

I don't wipe things down either. At restaurants or with shopping carts, I'll lay a blanket over the part DS is likely to touch, but I don't worry too much. I wash my hands and that's about it. I'm not too worried about DS since overall he is healthy. DH and I grew up on farms, and only washed our hands before eating, so we were exposed to everything and were very healthy kids.

I do sanitize things before we use them the first time - bottles, pacifiers, etc... - but otherwise I just wash things when they are dirty with soapy water.

no i just wash my hands frequently, and try to wipe high germ areas like the keyboard and doorknobs regularly.

Not really. I think some exposure to germs is a good thing.

Nah, we really don't worry about it at all. (Except for extremes- if DS's pacifier falls on the floor of the platform while we're waiting for the metro, that gets washed off...)

Similar to @cyndistar3: We'll only wipe things down if they're dirty and don't go out of our way to sanitize everything for our LO. The first 6 months, yes, we sanitized as much as possible. But after that we just wiped with a damp cloth or baby wipes.

No, I only wipe things down if they are obviously dirty. I don't really try super hard to protect lo from germs either, we both have great immune systems and almost never get sick.

I don't. I feel like we touch everything that others touch, and if to make sure everything's clean I'd have to wear gloves or not touch door knobs. It's just not possible.

DH carries santi-wipes for when we dine out. While we can sanitize objects, we can most definitely sanitize our hands before and after...

I don't, and it's really something I think you're better off being relaxed about. I heard an immunologist on the radio a while back, and she said the healthiest kids are the ones who were rooting around putting everything in their mouths- its like an evolutionary mechanism to familiarise their system with the local germs through the safest entry. Think about all the acid in the average stomach- it does kill lots of germs all the time, it's only the big scary ones that get through. There's a saying here that a dirty child is a happy child- usually referring to kids playing outside and coming in covered in mud etc. I've always been relaxed about this stuff- except with obviously risky things like raw chicken etc- and I very rarely get sick at all. Haven't taken an antibiotic in years.

I don't wipe things down, but I sanitize my hands after touching carts, gas pumps, door handles, money...DH thinks I'm a weirdo but if you think about all the people that touch that stuff. gag.

I do the same as andrea. If it's obviously dirty I'll wipe it down and tend to be a bit more cautious if there's a bug going around but other than that I don't worry about a little exposure here and there.

No, I don't. I don't get sick a lot and want the germ exposure to keep my immune system strong. But if something is obviously dirty then I will wipe.

Yes! Because I'm a teacher, I feel the need to sanitize everything at work. The habit has started at home too! I get sick a lot because I work with little kids, so I want to do what I can to minimize that.

Do you sanitize tables at restaurants? Computer keyboards others have used? Your phone? Armrests?

I find myself using my sanitizing wipes EVERYWHERE! I get really freaked out by germs, even though I know they are still going to get to me I do my best to keep them away from me (& LO!)
