I use "we" a lot anyway, but I definitely prefer "we" when talking about pregnancy because I think it better highlights my husband's role in our pregnancy. I know where babies come from!" I've gotten it a handful of times and it still shocks me each time, it's beyond rude, IMO. But for the record, lol, LO was planned. But I don't think I would say "We're pregnant!" because "We" are not, I am.. I don't know it kind of bothers me because its incorrect. I would probably say "We are expecting", or "I am pregnant". I think this could be pretty regional though. I am in the UK and always associate "We're pregnant" with being an Americanism...? I can completely understand your motivation though. I would hate it if people asked "Is this planned?" I would seriously want to punch them in the face. More and more I am wondering if we should just try and keep it a secret till baby arrives!! And I, 90% of the time will speak for both of us, in the sense that I'll say "My husband and I are so excited about the baby!" instead of "I'm excited about the baby!" I'm 22, a little on the young side (although one of the last of my friends to have kids), so I want to make sure everyone knows I'm married and try to head off questions about whether LO was planned. And for some strange psychological reason, saying "I'm pregnant" instead of "we're pregnant" makes me feel like a girl from 16 & Pregnant. Probably totally irrational! Do you say "we"?
