@Grace: That is one of the many reasons I switched chiropractors. My first one was one of those 'insurance' guys and basically adjusted me, did some stretches, and sent me on my way, then charged for all these therapies (like laying on a water table). The office I go to now is so much better. They have me doing exercises to strengthen my back/hips to hold the adjustments, and I'm seeing a major difference.

I know lots of people swear by chiropractors and I went to one when my kneecap was out of place. He'd adjust me, tell me to come back in a few days. I'd come back feeling a bit better and he'd adjust again which made it feel worse and then better. It was a bit of a vicious cycle. Eventually, I went to a sports doctor who told me my quads weren't strong enough to hold the kneecap in place. He gave me excersices and I was back to normal in 2 weeks (after months with the chiro). So, I trust physio more than chiro now. If you do decide to go, make sure you trust yourself. If it isn't getting better, maybe try something else.

I go to get ART (active release technique) and adjustments. My hips have always been tight and going helps. I usually try to go once every two weeks, but i've been bad with booking appointments lately.

Would you think about going now? It may help with some pregnancy-related pain.

i go weekly and restarted going during my pregnancy! i would try to find someone now! it's great when you're pregnant! and like @allison: mentioned, you have relaxin in your body for a couple of months afterward and it's a perfect time to get adjusted!

my chiropractor recommends this site to find someone for pregnancy and kids!

I also started while I was pregnant. I was having some issues with my sacrum, but he wasn't really able to resolve it until after I had the baby. I definitely recommend going very soon after giving birth, while you still have relaxin in your joints! I've read that if you wait too long, the chiro might not be able to fix the issues you're having.

Immediately postpartum, I went a couple times a week for a month or so. Now, I go probably every 2 months, for maintenance. He adjusts my spine, hips, and sometimes sacrum if I've been having issues with it. I've also had my neck adjusted a couple times.

I saw a chiropractor for years until he moved out of state. I think I went about a year without seeing one until I got pregnant. Pregnancy has really messed with my hips and lower back so I found a new chiropractor that specializes in pregnancy. I feel a million times better. I'm pretty sure if I wasn't seeing a chiropractor weekly I would not be able to walk without pain right now.

I go regularly. I started because I was in a car accident last year, and have been going for the last month because of hip/back pain related to pregnancy. My pelvis was thrown out of alignment due to the accident, so it has a tendency to want to rotate out and going to the chiropractor keeps me feeling good through these last weeks of pregnancy. Prior to going back, I was having a hard time walking due to hip/sciatic pain, and now I am doing so much better.

As for what I have adjusted, she works on my whole back depending on what's out that time, and also my neck and hips. I also have a series of exercises to do to help strengthen the muscles to hold the adjustments. They aren't difficult, and two I do at home (cat-cow and laying on my back with my knees hanging to the side).

If you can find a chiropractor that is experienced with working on pregnant women, I would go now, especially if you are having this much pain. It is so, so worth it.

I go regularly! I went while pregnant, too, because being pregnant jacked me up BAD.

I was in a car accident 5+ years ago and suffered from a triple harmonic in my neck. Your neck should have one curve. Mine had 3. So he put that back into place. My lower back also doesn't have enough of a curve, so he put that back. It needs regular adjustments to keep from slipping back.

My pelvis rotated while pregnant, so he put that back. It's doing it again right now--sideways and forward. It's caused me a ton of pain, so I've been seeing him 2x/week instead of 2x/month.

I seriously do not know how I would function without my chiropractor. I would be in chronic pain. It's amazing how I can go from lots of pain, hardly being able to walk or get up out of a chair, to skipping out of his office :)

5 days after I had E, I got a full adjustment (your tailbone can get really out of whack from delivery) and I had stim on my lower back. It was heavenly.

I would if our insurance covered it. I have had issues with my hips/lower back being uncomfortable and it makes a big difference for me. My happy medium is going a few times a year and being diligent about going to yoga in between.

I think there are chiropractors who specialize in pregnancy adjustments and some people swear it helps make labor easier so it might be worth looking for someone with that training.

I see one regularly. I was going prior to getting pregnant (to help regulate after my m/c) and have continued going throughout my pregnancy. At 28 weeks, I go once a month but starting in the next week or so, I'll probably start going every other week.
When I first started going, they did xrays and have adjusted as my needs tend to be... so headaches or pain/tightness in my lower back.

I went while I was pregnant because I developed a lot of pregnancy-related hip and pelvic bone problems. He fixed me right up! He also used techniques for optimal positioning of the baby - I had a breech baby that turned just in time. I love my chiro!

What sort of service (?), adjustments do you get? What is your ailment? And lastly, does it help?

I think I am in DIRE need of chiropractic care - my back and hips are totally out of whack. Once I give birth, I have plans to go. Please share your experiences!
