They often play with nerf and squirt guns, and every once in a while with the shiny old fashioned cap guns. But never with anything real looking. These are realistic looking guns. One had the orange tip so as an adult I knew it was not real, but the one today was in a freakin holster on this kids hip. It looked as real as real can be. I've told B that sometimes you don't know if those are real or fake so we don't play with them.</p> <p>We have bright colored water guns and a Nerf foam bow &amp; arrow--those are fine with me. I even think DH has a foam Nerf gun that he's saving for DS. One of the last times we were at the park in the summer some boys were playing with Nerf guns and darts and there was a parent there freaking out and going from other parent to parent to see if it was their kids because she was offended by the Nerf guns and was worried it could hurt someone.
