They had the most amazing hummus, dates, and such cheap spices! It is primarily Japanese, but I can find Chinese items there too. </p> <p>And yes, the spices are SUPER CHEAP. They sell star anise in bottles (e.g. same as Safeway) for about $5-6. Asian markets are usually cheaper for veggies and certain items. I also would get a few things at the Russian market pretty regularly. Now we live in small town white bread USA where the grocery store with the best ethnic selection is Walmart. I kid you not.
