LO will be 9 months this week and I sing to her all the time: before bed, before naps, when she's upset, when we're playing. Singing works like a charm. Her nanny sings to her when she's upset, too.

ETA: And she has a favorite song, too. It's cute because she'll smile when I start singing it.

LO is 9 months old and I hum to her all the time before naps and bedtime. It seems to help relax her when she's restless or fighting sleep, and as a bonus it helps me relax too!

Definitely. Part of the nap routine, and at night if they are having trouble getting to sleep. Mine are 6 months. My mom sang to me whenever I had trouble falling asleep well into grade school.

For TG it's part of our routine, it helps her to stop chatting and settle. I sing to Wonder Baby to sooth her if she's having a rough time falling asleep.

@London Mama: I totally used to do this with DD! I would sing in order to get her to eat, it was like she had a dinner with musical program every day! I finally was able to stop when she was older and able to follow directions better.

Right now, I sing to DS as part of his sleep cues. Just a tiny bit.

It's part of our nap routine. She's 8 months old. As soon as the white noise comes on and the door closes, she lays her head down on my shoulder while I sing.

I do for naps but not at night, I also sing whenever DS is upset or needs to be distracted, usually works a charm. You could say my life has turned into a musical, I sing when we change diapers, get dressed, do the laundry, cooking etc etc!

Charlie has had trouble sleeping the last two nights, and so I broke out a baby trick and started singing him Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star. I couldn't believe it, but it worked! He immediately settled down and after about 10 minutes of singing, our three-year-old toddler flipped over and fell asleep.

Do you sing to help your LO sleep? How old is your LO?
