It's sort of funny because I can remember my grandma saying you should never sleep in underwear because you need to "air things out" and my mom has also always slept in just a long tshirt. But I always slept in underwear and pj pants and a tshirt. Then I started having some issues last year that I thought was recurrent YI but when I went to my doc she said it was actually just irritation/sensitive skin and that I should sleep without underwear. So I bought a few nightgowns and started just sleeping in those every night and I've never had another issue since!
