I totally do! We have looked for a couch forever but I arbirtarily decided it was too much. I literally spent a year and a half looking for a cheaper couch before finally just buying the one I actually want. I buy clearance clothes when really I just wear the same handful of pricey things over and over. I am getting there but my nature is to be frugal. I keep reeling myself that in the longer run I am happier if I just buy what I actually want/need as opposed to doing without or buying something that doesn't work. Actually, The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin talks about this idea quite a bit, it was a good read.

Oh yes, for sure. I see something I want, DH tells me to get it, and I think "I can't spend that much money. I should use it for something more important, something for the baby."

When I DO buy something big for myself, I usually end up feeling guilty and returning it.

Definitely. We have worked so hard to save up for a house and now we close this week. The house needs updating and it is so hard to not go crazy buying stuff for the house and be in a save mentality to recoup our closing costs and the down payment on the house.

I don't but DH does. He'll get in a bad mood over something like that. But he's always the one to pull the trigger on big purchases like home stuff & cars. Whereas with the big stuff, I second guess our needs.

I'm doing some research to buy a new laptop and, of course, the permutations are near-infinite, but when I see some of the higher-end prices, I think to myself, "I can't spend that kind of money, I should be putting that away for LO" even though I know that's kind of silly. Anyone else go a bit mad over big spends?
