Before lo we would leave around 9, now we leave around 8. Not a huge deal.

For new years we'll bring lo to a family friends house and set up the pack n play even though I know her sleep wont be as good there. I figure it's just one night, it wont be the end of the world. And if she really really cant sleep.... we'll just go home.

@bebefly: hahaha my 9 mos old is all over the place- he loves to crawl and explore. He won't even sleep with us! I know he'd be crawling right off the bed.

Tonight, we set up the pack and play at my parents house so DD could get to sleep on time still but it was too complicated to move her so we just spent the night!

could you possibly just put him to bed ON a bed ? Whenever I'm at a friends house & he falls asleep I just put him to bed in her bed & he sleeps fine. We also bed share at home so that's where he sleeps for naps & at nighttime....don't know if that would make a difference ?

@woodentulip: I used to have to do it weekly while I was a nanny, he slept in the pnp often and never slept well. I'm glad we don't have to do that anymore. Hopefully he sleeps well!!

I am very much in the same boat as you. And I am absolutely paranoid/anxious about my kiddos sleep. Nap times are very strict, bed times are very strict. That being said, I have always been so happily surprised by my babes when we have put them down elsewhere. I wouldn't do it weekly, but every now and then, it is a nice break for all of you! If you are comfortable with trying the pnp sleep, give it a go, and if you need to you can always do a quick strike and head home!

I wish we had a house so WE could host and this wouldn't be a problem :)

I am super close to my family and we always stay late (sometimes 11-12!) and play games, drink wine etc. But now we're approaching our first holidays with a bebe and it changes things since he strictly goes to bed at 7pm.

I'm wondering if I should set up the pnp (he doesn't normally sleep well in the pnp) and put him to bed at my parents and hope he sleeps until we leave, or if we should cut out early to get him to bed...

What are you doing?
