But I do on occassion call my dad "daddy", but only to him in an affectionate way. Sometimes I do think its weird to still say Daddy but when I've tried to say Dad, it just sounds odd. </p> <p>My 3yo started calling us Mom and Dad, we always used mama and dada without giving any thought to what he would use long term, it was just easier to say, but I guess I have no preference. He recently started calling us by our first names when other ppl are around - I guess so they know who he's talking about? I'm from the South, and call my dad "daddy," and mom "momma." She had me stop "mommy" in fifth grade because she was afraid I'd get made fun of.
