I've struggled with acne since I was 12, and I had been mostly clear until I went off BCP. I get occasional pimples on my face now, usually around AF time, and I've found that using benzoyl peroxide every night keeps things relatively clear. What's really bad right now is my bacne :bummed: It's gross, especially since it's tank top/bathing suit weather! I haven't found anything yet that works. I blame the PCOS and genes. And mostly on my chin. I've tried a million products, and Dermalogica's Overnight Clearing Gel works WONDERS. I recently took my last BCP, though, so it's only downhill from here :-/ I know it's going to get bad before it gets better and I'm dreading it! It's not so much the pimples, because they don't last forever. It's the fact that my skin often will get a dark spot from the pimple that takes foreverrrr to go away. I am 36 and also regularly break out. I also think it is because I am not on birth control anymore. My favorite that I use (and learned about from HB) is Belli acne spot treatment. I noticed it was worse off the pill too. Pregnant now but after I have this baby and I'm done nursing I'm going back on the pill and getting myself some Rodan Fields products to help my skin get back to looking better! It's not horrible acne but I have the bumpy kind of Rosacea and sometimes it is worse than others. My dermatologist prescribed it to me during a bad break out. I rarely use it now, but it works really well. I had terrible acne as a teenager (it took 2 rounds of a Accutane to help). But, even in my late twenties I still have a bit :shocked: I just use a bit more concealer on flare up days. I'd like to hear from others about products! I usually just try to not wear much makeup for a couple days and take a bit of a salycilic acid face wash and just put it directly on the pimple for a few mins before washing it off. Personally I'm a big fan of clean & clear face washes. I guess they were controlled by birth control pills in the past, but since I've been off them I've been breaking out regularly. How do you spot treat your pimples? What products work best for you? PS - Aren't I too old to think about pimples?!
