I peeled for my kids at that age because they were spitting out the peels or choking. After they got the hang of it I stopped peeling. Sometimes it's easier if you cut them up first and then peel? I didn't ever peel them but one day she tried to do it herself and couldn't, then she refused to eat it if it wasn't peeled. So I did it.
