Yes! I only read physical books. I dunno...there's something about turning the pages of a book, the smell of the paper, actually holding a real book...ereaders just don't compare :)

@Arden: Same here. My father died recently, and I keep finding books that he'd given me with his writing in them. Then I have a few books that have his essays or that he edited. And then there are those that were we both authors we both enjoyed and collected, but over the years I sort of absconded with his collection. I also have a book that I bought for him, but was never able to give to him, because he was in a coma by the time I got to him.

You just can't replicated those kind of memories with ebooks.

I do! I love reading physical books. I have a Nook and use that as well but I think I will always prefer holding an actual book. I will buy a paper book if it's cheaper than the e-book equivalent. I'm currently reading an actual book for that very reason! :)

I borrow my physical books from the library. The only physical books I've bought recently are for DS. I have a Nook, but I haven't used it much now that I'm not working, since I don't have to commute by train.

I read paper books. I don't own an e-reader/tablet, and after too long the computer screen gives me a headache.

I love how they feel in my hands. Plus they don't break like a tablet would when I inevitably fall asleep reading and it falls to the (hard) floor.

Also, I'm cheap and don't want to pony up the $$ for an e-reader/tablet deal.

I read novels on my ipad, but for most other books I prefer hard copy. I think it's mostly because I like to be able to bookmark things and flip back and forth between multiple sections, which I just find easier to do in hard copy books.

E-readers are great for some things but, for me, I prefer more reference style books (e.g. travel guides, pregnancy books, TCOYF etc.) in hard copy so that I can underline things and flag pages with post-its. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned though!

I also don't have an e-reader of any kind. I like to read in the bath and I don't really want to take an electronic with me.... I can see the appeal for traveling (especially after hauling a giant hardcover book all over Mexico) but nothing beats the simple joy that I get from reading a physical book. No batteries, no charging, no worries.

Yes, and I think it's really tragic that people are switching away from them. I think that a physical library is so important to have around for your children. My daughter's favorite thing is reading her many books, and I can't imagine what she'd do with a kindle. It just wouldn't be the same.

I got a nook towards the end of my pregnancy since I was up a lot in the middle of the night the last few weeks of pg and once the babies arrived. It let me read while still in the dark, and was easier to navigate size wise than the laptop while nursing. I haven't purchased any books for it though, I just check out ebooks from our local library. So for this purpose, it's perfect. But ideally I love paper books, have many, and am back to reading paper again before bed or when I sneak away to Starbucks.

All the time; I probably check out 1-2 paper books from my library every week, plus all my school books are in paper (I find e-textbooks to be really difficult to use). I also read on my Kindle and my husband's Nook; I'm pretty non-discriminatory. :)

I purchase most books on my Kindle, but every once in a while I'll be somewhere where I can get great deals on paper (like $5 for a paperback or less) and then I stock up, and those last me a while. I prefer the kindle because I do most of my reading on my commute, and unless it's a small book, it gets so heavy. BUT, if I'm at home reading I do like a real physical book. And if I was ever studying something I think I would have to do paper-- I'm too old school!

I only read paper books, don't have an e-reader...I don't feel like I should have to do anything special to make sure the book I'm reading doesn't run out of batteries. :) I can see the appeal for travel, but that's the only time I would find the concept of an e-reader desirable.

Yes! At least when I'm reading for "work." I've got a school library full of paper books, so although we circulate stuff on Kindles and iPads, when I'm reading YA books for school, I usually do the paper version.

If it's an "adult" book that has nothing to do with students, I'm much more likely to read it on my iPad (the whole instant gratification can't wait to go to the bookstore/library problem).
