Please note I use the word "make", because sometimes when I were unsuccessful I do pick things up myself to a more orderly fashion. If it were just a few books here and there, I'd leave it. </p> <p>I think our big belief was, we want to let him get used to (and love) living in an "orderly" environment, so it would somehow grow into him that he'd *want* to clean up because he is used to living in an orderly space. If it were my house, I'd maybe take the opportunity to clean up the kitchen or something like that, but not so much the toys! They will all come back out again when LO wakes up, anyway.
