I use the halo sleep sacks with arms as a backup but the love to dream one is the best one for him. It's cotton and light and he loves having his arms up and fisted, instead of the traditional arms down swaddled position. Summer Infant has solid/ neutral color swaddles in Micro Fleece (7 to 14 lbs) and Cotton(14 to 20lbs). Would Micro Fleece be too hot for a warm-climate baby even if just in diaper? I was nervous about it at first, too, but a friend of mine told me she was in Haiti recently and all the newborns she saw were swaddled like crazy even though it was 90+ degrees and they slept beautifully. He wears a short sleeve onesie underneath. It is about 78 in our room where we sleep at night. He seems warm when he wakes up to eat but not hot. I think it helps him sleep a lot at this age! We use a halo with the swaddle arms at night (easier diaper changes) so I wouldn't go only diaper because of the zipper. She's not sweaty, but the back of her neck is really, really warm. We have AC but our room on the third floor tends to be warm. I sleep with tank/shorts and no blanket even with the AC on so I'm guessing she has to be hot all swaddled up. She wears a onsie underneath. I want to ditch the swaddle but I think she does sleep a little better with it. Do you swaddle your summer baby? Do they get hot?
