We do, mostly because DD has a fractured collarbone and needs to keep her arm close to her body but I think we would do it either way. I'm terrible at swaddling though so I bought the swaddleme wraps, they work much better than any swaddle I try.

At first we didn't because we thought he didn't like it (he self soothes with his hands). Then we realized he slept much better with it so we use it. He is 1 month.

We swaddled lightly when he slept in his rock n play because that also kind of cradled his body. We switched to a tighter swaddle when he transitioned to the crib at around 11-12 weeks, and then switched to a sleep sack a bit shy of 6 months. FWIW, it would have been awesome not to have to deal with it!

If she sleeps fine without it, then don't bother!! :) It's tough to wean from the swaddle when it's not safe anymore (when they can flip and move)! Wagon Jr. could not sleep if he broke out of the swaddle even a tiny bit so we had to swaddle like crazy. When we had to wean from the swaddle we had to stand there and hold his arms down until he was in a deep sleep! Eventually we started leaving a blankie over each arm and that helped a little.

We swaddled LO (16 weeks now) from newborn up until recently. He slept well being swaddled but 3 nights ago he decided that he hated it, so we've been putting him to sleep without. We figured its time anyways!

He woke up 6 times the first night, 5 times on the second night and last night he only woke up twice! Yay for progress! :)

Oh you are lucky! We are about to hit the 4-month mark which is the usual swaddle-wean age. And I'm so scared! We had to swaddle him our he'd wake up from his moro reflex, he'd be hitting his face all the time or doing sudden jerks that would startle him. The only way he sleeps, and stays asleep is being swaddled.

my DH has active hands that love to punch him all night long. if we didn't swaddle, there's no way he would be able to sleep.

We didn't initially, but once she became a little more wakeful we did. She started waking herself a little, but also found it calmed her when fussy and gave us longer sleep stretches.

We had to swaddle. My son's moro reflex was too strong for him without being swaddled to get any kind of sleep.

DS hated being swaddled and anything that resembled a swaddle (like the Ergo infant insert, lol). I had so many friends that swore by it that I stocked up on a million swaddles and didn't use any of them.

We didn't swaddle with arms in in the very beginning but started to after 2-ish weeks. Swaddling is almost like a 'time for sleep!' cue for us. If your LO doesn't need to be swaddled then consider yourself lucky! We are deathly afraid to wean from the swaddle!
