In some ways. I work out more (need it to manage anxiety) and drink less. But I sleep less and am more stressed overall. Food is about the same as before although I'm less diligent about what I eat while nursing since I'm always hungry.

Unfortunately no. I still have baby weight to lose and DW has gained as well. No time. Less cooking. Less sleep. Two fulltime jobs, no in town family to help so no all around!!! At least so far.

Yes, but mainly because my mom passed away two years ago when I was 34, and I want to make sure I can have as much time with my daughter and family as possible! Nothing is for granted, but it definitely moitivates me to keep up with my health first and foremost.

I always worked out and tried to eat healthily before LO but I wasn't very effective at it. I would go to the gym and then get myself a latte for a reward 😂

Now I find that our lives are more settled so it's easier to eat healthy food, exercise, etc. DH and I have both lost a decent amount of weight since LO and feel much better generally, so it's rewarding.

Absolutely. I have lost 3st in the last year and have significantly reduced my alcohol consumption. It was a combination of having my girls and seeing my mum's health problems catch up with her.

No. If my children ever start sleeping, I will be so excited to start working out again. I eat junky snacks because they are fast and I am famished, and I know I also should be eating more since breastfeeding makes me lose weight like crazy, but...no time.

Yes. Having children really helped me to focus on my own health, and to figure out what I wanted from that area of my life. My husband and I have both taken up competitive cycling since our kids were born, and we both just have to find the time. We also involve them in our sports - my 5 year old likes to jog with me, and I just bought her her first pair of skis. She also rides in the kids race each time we race. So absolutely, I take much better care of myself now.

Yes! I'm much more diligent about medical care, screening, that sort of thing. I live in a more suburban area now, so I walk less, but I am more regimented about going to the gym (on my lunch break) and getting out with the kiddo. In general I make healthier choices like driving slower, getting more sleep, drinking less alcohol, purposely scheduling social time.

Yes. Especially recently. I think I'm at my physically strongest I've ever been (maybe not in as good of stamina-shape as when I was doing competitive sports in high school, but strength-wise yes). I've been going to the gym 2x a week (bc they have 2 hours of daycare daily for my 2 kids) and we don't have much of a social life/family isn't nearby so it's basically my only outlet.

Eating-wise - we were pretty bad about a TON of takeout but this last month we have changed habits a bit and I'm starting to cook a bit more. I eat healthy for breakfast/lunch so then I feel good about whatever for dinner - bc I already got my "required" nutrients in for the day so I can do the damn thing and eat lots of pizza if I want. Lol.

NO. I used to work out a lot more. And just spent a lot more time and money on self-care. I do care more about organic foods, and hormone and nitrate free meats, but without the regular working out piece I think my health is worse now overall. For sure my weight is higher which is never good long term.

Yes. I've recently started to become more active to do stuff with my son and after being winded doing very simple things, I decided to get with the program. I have lost 10% of my body weight in less than a year and plan to keep going to 15% and then maintaining. The way to keep my cholesterol under control is with exercise but I do admit I am getting up to the age where I could control it with pills.

I also get regular mammograms and stuff, knowledge is power.

Since we've lived in our current city, yes. But I think it's also more to do with having good insurance and very easy access to various healthcare providers. I can see specialists without a referral and my experience is that I can get an appointment with just about any doctor I want within a few days. That makes it so much easier to have issues checked right away than having to wait weeks or months for an appointment.

In some ways yes and others no. I try to be more active, but real "workouts" rarely happen. We definitely eat much, much healthier. I don't go to the doctor or dentist as often because it's a PITA to take the kiddos or have hubs take off work so I can go alone.

No. Scheduling appointments is more difficult with the added concerns of childcare or bringing her with me. And finding time to work out just doesn't happen. We still walk and hike often, but I miss yoga. I still eat pretty well. But on the whole, no, I do not take better care of myself.

No. Between the kids being sick for a month and myself being sick for a month, I got shingles. So, pretty bad here. I'm working on my immunity.

In terms of eating and healthy, we're about so so there. Since doing Hello Fresh, we've gotten a lot healthier and have less food waste.

Life is just more exhausting with two kids, two jobs and commutes, and schedules galore. Add getting sick into it and my immunity sunk. I'm working on taking better care of myself and being kinder to myself about the million household chores we have. Getting a second car recently really helped with some of the stress.

No it is much harder to find time for things like exercise and cooking. I was in a terrible takeout/delivery rut until my son was 2.5 (six months ago). Pregnancy and labor/delivery affected my body pretty negatively too. Having a child is definitely a net negative on my health.
