Otherwise I tough it out usually. I don't quite know why... I think I sort of feel like our bodies were made to fight things and I should just let my body do its thing unless it becomes terribly uncomfortable. I know that DH will just push meds on me if I complain. I know my body is more than capable of withstanding a little pain, and it usually goes away by the end of the day. I only take pain killers for cramps and with those I have to take it right away. For headaches, I usually wait it out. Drugs work better if you can head off the symptoms. I try to tough it out these days b/c I'd prefer not to take meds but sometimes it's really just unbearable. Stomach upset/cramps/etc are usually Crohn's related so I take my in case of emergency meds right away. Same for migraines. I've become much, much less tolerant of being in pain since being diagnosed with fibro so I tend to take meds for pains too when it starts to become obvious the pains are not getting better. When I have an upset stomach, it's Pepto. Allergies? I reach for the Reactine. My husband thinks that I should tough it out, like him. But my argument is that he'll whine and complain about his pain until it goes away. I would rather just take a simple med and be done. What do you do?
