My mom usually watches her (she comes over during the week while I WFH), but we had to take her to an ultrasound appt once because my mom had a dr's appt at the same time. Luckily, my husband was there to keep her occupied (he doesn't come to my OB appts) but he had to miss the 2nd half of the ultrasound because she was getting bored.

so far we haven't had to take her. she stays with my MIL during our visits. I do want to take her to one of our next appts though, everyone in the office keeps asking how she's doing and wants to meet her. we are using the same office from my pregnancy with LO last year, so they all remember her birth.

@stargal: if we have another lo DH and DD will definitely come with me! I also hate going alone and have no one to watch lo...

Eta: I wouldn't have them leave during internal but my only thing is that the rooms are soooo small. At least if our dh's are there they can take our lo's to the potty or lobby if they need to.

I never had to because my OB visits were always when I was on my way to work and she was at daycare. Since DH would be there, why not have him take your LO out to the lobby for the pap smear part but no reason he couldn't be there for the rest of it. I have a friend who always took her older child to her OB visits as long as they didn't include an internal exam. Hearing the baby's heartbeat made being a big sibling more exciting/real for the older one.

I've always brought W (he's now 21 months and I'm 38 weeks pregnant) but he had like a panic attack during my first internal exam so I've had to make other arrangements for the last few appointments.

A normal appointment he did with though!

When we get pregnant with #2, i won't have a choice but take her - I'm a sahm and don't really have anyone who can watch her.

But I take her to all my dr appts now (22 months) and she's well behaved. I think since I take her everywhere, she's used to being my sidekick and going on boring errands :P I just bring lots of snacks and the occasional treat to keep her occupied

A few but I usually scheduled them when she was in daycare. My NT scan was in the evening so she patiently sat through that outside with DH.

I have my first prenatal visit (they do paperwork and pap smear) next week and wondering if I should take Pierson(18 months) with me.. it shouldn't be that long and I don't really have anyone to watch him though. oh my husband will be with me too, I would prefer him at the drs though instead of at home watching P. I HATE going to dr appts alone.
