She recently called a nearby family member and asked her to come over for a bit to babysit while she showered. Family member comes over, find that the baby has been asleep for an hour in the swing, and happily sits there reading a book while my friend showered. </p> <p>I couldn't help but (gently, lovingly!) laugh when I heard this. A baby who can't roll over is utterly safe in a swing, mat, etc. Lock your doors. Have a smoke detector. Shut the dog out of the room. Then dear goodness, take a shower. I'd be a bit scared of putting the mat in the doorway as ifDH did get up and wasn't looking when he opened the bedroom door he could step on her. I don't like the bouncer chair at the moment as it squishes her legs a bit in the harness but maybe the bouncer in the bathroom but having a colder shower so less steam is the answer? I'm such a rookie.
