We just doubled our sq footage and keeping things put away is easier because we have more closets and drawers. Also, when stuff is out, it doesnt overwhelm the space as much. Now we have a larger home and I love that is is easy for it to look tidy and we have tons if storage. We live in over 2000 sq feet but have VERY little storage (no coat closets, no linen closets) so I feel like everywhere we look, there's just stuff EVERYWHERE. There are graveyards for everything-- the daycare artwork graveyard on our living room windowsill, Wagon Sr.'s shoulder bag graveyard on the floor in front of our TV, the greeting card graveyard on top of our living room bookshelf. We're trying to clear off one surface each day this week. We handled the fireplace mantel (our equivalent of a living room junk drawer) but it's already accumulating more stuff.... ughhhh. </p> <p>I do wish we had a small, tiny study on the first floor where Wagon Sr. can literally open the door, throw in his crap, and shut (and lock) the door so I don't have to see it. After 10 years together I've come to the conclusion that he just NEEDS to throw crap everywhere. We've lived in sub-1000sq ft apartments since LO was born and it's frustrating. There are never enough closets or cabinets no matter how much stuff I give away. And the lack of garage is hard (our stroller and a bike live indoors!). Our apt was constantly dirty, the house we have to spot clean every now and then. I think it has alot to do with the perception. But when you live in a small apartment -- especially when you have two kids -- every room gets messy. It was easier to keep our last apartment cleaner than this one where we had more space even though there was technically more space to clean.</p> <p>What about you?
