DH and SIL are super close, but my brother and I are not. I mean, we get along fine but we've never been close and don't hang outside of being with family. Then in high school, he was one of the "cool" kids and I wasn't, so he basically pretended he didn't know me and that we weren't related, which was humiliating. Once we went to college, we started to become closer. And now in ours 30s, we're best friends!</p> <p>On the other hand, Hubs and his sister (14 months apart, she's older), used to be close growing up and had a lot of the same group of friends, but they've gotten further and further apart as they get older and have almost nothing in common except for a shared background and family. Growing up, we did NOT get along. It was pretty brutal in high school, but once we were both in college we started to become friends. Nowadays, we get along... for certain periods of times. We're just very different from each other and know how to push each other's buttons which means we fight often if we're together. DH has a sister. They're fairly close and rarely fight. </p> <p>It gets me thinking about what I'd want for LO #2. On one hand I think two sisters can be great friends, but on the other hand I can see how much drama it can cause. </p> <p>If you have a sibling I'm interested in if you're the same or opposite sex, and what your relationship is like? </p>
