With that said, we def won't let LOs be latchkey kids like we were nor would we let them play by themselves the way that we freely did. And that's why our parents let us play outside - because abductions and bad people were less common?</p> <p>b) Or was the world more dangerous before, and we just didn't know about it because awareness was lower and Law &amp; Order: SVU hadn't come out yet?</p> <p>Personally I wouldn't be surprised if the world is much safer now... but then again, I don't plan to let Charlie play on the streets unsupervised like my parents allowed me to do.
