Oooh this is us to a fault. I can plan family picutres for 12 knowing she will be awake from her nap and ready to go...and she will decide to take a very early afternoon nap or take a late nap. It's ridiculous!

I am starting to think L knows what my plans are and purposely naps for shorter or longer periods just to mess with them, LOL! I don't think this can be a coincidence anymore.

Yesterday morning, i am home alone with him. he typically has a 1.5 - 2.5 hour nap in the morning. 30 mins after he is down, i sit down to work on my dissertation, he wakes up! I have no babysitter coming to help me then so there goes my dissertation time for the day!

Last week, I had babysitter coming at 10am, he FINALLY falls alseep at 9:40am (usually it is 9am the latest) and sleeps until 12:15pm! So I am paying someone to watch him on the video monitor while i work on dissertation for 2 hours!

Right now, i had plans at 3pm to meet a new mom and go for a walk in our neighborhood. He was asleep for afternoon nap by 2pm (should have been earlier, but that's another story about the babysitter). Afternoon naps are usually shorter, 1 - 1.5 hours if i am lucky, (especially if he had a long morning nap which he did today).....he has now been napping for almost 2 hours! i am actually going to have wake him which i never do!

i can give many more examples where it appears he changes up his nap routine only when i made plans based on what is "typical"

does your LO do this too?
