<description>&#60;p&#62;Yes. I grew up really picky, and my parents just gave in at a really young age - so I was always very protein deprived. It caused really serious headaches, way low muscle mass, it was just awful. So I go pretty overboard with my kids - I'm actually trying to dial it down a little. But I always make sure that each meal is protein and plant heavy, with lots of healthy fat, and that they eat protein before they have anything too sugary. Thankfully they're great eaters, and it really shows in their health and body compositions.

<description>&#60;p&#62;No.  Most meals include at least one thing from each of carb, protein, fruit, and veggie.  I generally allow for additional servings of fruit &#38;amp; veggie, usually will give more protein (esp if it's a healthy option and/or one that they don't always eat), but try not to offer any additional carbs unless it's delivering something else too (e.g., another serving of spaghetti w/ sauce, another half of a turkey sandwich, more pita w/ hummus).

<description>&#60;p&#62;@newlypregnantlady:  Same here. DD does not like protein foods (except peanut butter) so I track those and also that she eats enough calories. She's a skinny mini and I worry about her eating enough. I serve a fruit at breakfast and both fruit/ veggie at lunch and dinner pretty much every day so it's easy for me to make sure she gets her 5 in.

<description>&#60;p&#62;I only pay attention to veggies and protein. Veggies because it's easy for me to give her too few, and protein because she's a bottomless pit and I try to make sure she eats enough to keep her as full as possible. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I also try to make sure not to give her too much sodium, but that's more on the days we're not eating at home much.

<description>&#60;p&#62;Do you actually pay attention to how many servings of each food group your LO is getting per day? I have never paid that much attention, I just guess based on what they've had to eat that day, and if I feel they didn't get in much fruit, that'll be what they eat before bed for their snack. I'm going to guess some days they get in more carbs than anything else ;)
