Rhodesian Ridgeback mix). I would never have considered it if they weren't older and really well-trained. He's a flat face so it's not safe for him to fly. My parents watch him in that case. Our dog does great in the car so if it is a dog friendly place we take him- so my in laws, camping, long weekends if the hotel takes dogs etc. But he is more likely to get boarded if we have lots of things planned for the weekend or is it's just not a dog friendly place. We don't fly with him though so it has to be a road trip. Once we have a baby it will depend on how they do in the car together. We either kennel them or leave them with family. </p> <p>IL's and SILs family always bring their dogs everywhere and I'm exhausted just thinking about it! </p>
