Ya...don't feel guilty! We never turn the monitor on and we sleep with a fan for white noise! Our son's room is across the hall and our bedrooms are essentially separated by my closet. I've woken up many times much later than expected only to turn on the monitor and my son is staring wide-eyed right at the camera  . I'm glad you got to sleep in a little!

Oh no! I'm so sorry! If it makes you feel better, I went to bed at 8:45 and left the video monitor on the bed, but unplugged. I knew DH would be coming to bed within the hour, (I thought), and would plug it in for me. Weeeeeellll...he worked late and apparently forgot to plug it in. I woke up at 1am in a panic, realizing it was off. Some Mommy Sixth Sense told me something was wrong, apparently...about 30 seconds later, DD started wailing. She had horrible diarrhea! Ugh.
What did people do before monitors???

We only use the monitor at night when he is sick or when running AC units in our rooms....and have since he was like 6 months old! His room is right next to ours and we can hear everything. Don't feel guilty

One time I thought the monitor was plugged in, but the outlet was turned off (it's the one that has a light switch connected with it). The monitor died during the night and I didn't know it and I definitely slept through the night! But her room shares a wall with ours, so I can hear her crying when she gets going, and I have mommy-spidey-sense hearing, so I think she just slept through. I miss the days when that happened on rare occasions...

I'm sure you would have heard her if she was really upset. E can be just whining from 20 feet and a closed door away and it will wake me up.

We don't use a monitor at night because we had to get a new wireless router and I now have no clue why, but I can't pull up the feed on my phone when my phone is connected to the wi-fi, only when it's on 4G. And when it's on 4G and on the monitor it eats up data like whoa.

I'm sure you would have heard her if she were screaming. She must have slept in too!

We leave ours on the lowest volume setting but we probably don't need to.

DH puts the monitor on my bedside table when he goes to bed. I set my alarm for 6am. If there's noise, I'll hear it, watch him in the monitor, then go from there.

you would have her LO i'm sure! we sleep with both doors closed, but we're literally feet away. i hear her when she escalates and even when she's just fussing, so we NEVER have the monitor on when we're sleeping.

Nah there would have been screaming if you were really needed! I dot turn it off but I turn the volume down especially in the early am. Dd fusses in her sleep for about the last hour before wake up time. And sometimes I make her wait quite awhile before I get her I she's not screaming! I wouldn't feel guilty if I were you..it's entirely possible LO slept in a bit too! The time did just change!

I bet LO slept in too! That happens to us occasionally. I'm betting if she was loud, either you or your husband would have woken up, unlikely you would both sleep through it.

We leave ours on because he is upstairs and we are downstairs. I would never hear him if we didn't have the monitor. I'm sure you would have heard your LO if she really needed you since she is so close. :)

We leave ours on on our lowest setting. It won't go off unless she is screaming. Some morning I wake up and hope I didn't sleep through anything!

I feel so awful. Lately, i've been turning off the video monitor at night because although in separate rooms, LO's crib is literally 6 steps away from our bed. Since she's pretty loud in the morning, I felt like there was no point in keeping the monitor on -- i will hear her.

Well, this morning i heard her...at 8:20am!! DH and i had both slept in by almost 2 hours. I knew something was wrong when i saw light streaming in our room! I feel horrible now...what if she was calling out for us over an hour and we were just "ignoring" her? :( I had fallen into a pretty deep sleep because i went to bed so late last night.
