@prettylizy: This is how it works for us too. If he's home I call him to help me, if not I do it myself. Unless it's super heavy, then I leave it for him.

Interesting you're asking this question b/c last weekend my husband made a comment about how our neighbor's wife didn't help her husband bring the groceries inside the house. I told him that maybe he already told her that he'll bring it in. And my husband has told me that on many occasions so I thought it was odd that he brought that up. He's so weird sometimes! But if I went out by myself I usually bring it in myself unless it's a heavy item like a case of water b/c I have to carry all the stuff past my husband's car and there's not a lot of room to walk in front of his car. When I was pregnant I made him carry it all in! LOL! Yes, I took advantage of being pregnant many times with my husband! And there were many nice strangers who also helped me out as well, especially at Costco where I always buy huge things. I had my tires rotated and they drove it to the front of the store for me (they don't normally do this) and someone came to help me load all of my groceries/things into the car. I will never forget how nice they were.

If I'm by myself, I do it myself. I'd only leave something for DH if I were literally physically incapable...but that rarely happens. Can't let the baby belly slow me down!

I did it myself until about the last month of my pregnancy. We lived in a second floor apartment for most of it too, and I street parked! DH would sometimes get upset. I tried to make it light. Unfortunately the laundry was also downstairs so I had to carry that too! If DH was home he would carry things though.

I leave the big, non-perishables for him to bring in later. My hands are usually full with LO, my bag, etc.

I do it myself unless it's too heavy (like those 40 lb cat litter tubs) but maybe that will change later in pregnancy.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who gets spoiled this way. I feel a litle guilty about it once in a while, but I like that Hubs is protective this way.

If I go shopping, sometimes I only bring the perishables upstairs. Today I bought baby things, but left them in the car until later when Hubs will help me unload them. Hubs actually prefers for me to do this.

Do you unload the car or does your SO help?
