I think ours looks a lot prettier with the skirt. I bought mine on clearance from Target for $25 for the entire set of skirt, sheet and bumper (though we don't use the bumper).

Nope. Our crib isn't really designed for one. It would cover up the pretty wood design on the bottom.

I bought a super basic, plain, white one from Amazon. I think it was somewhere around $15. LO's crib is designed in such a way that I can't use underneath for storage without lifting the entire crib, and the metal bars holding her mattress platform up are pretty ugly.

I will say, it's a total pain in the butt to straighten while trying to change crib sheets.

H's crib has one. I'll probably make a few more later down the line since eventually I'll have two cribs in the nursery. Not necessary but I do like that hides the dust bunnies!

I bought one. I'd say it's definitely not necessary for our crib (babyletto hudson) and the skirt we got doesn't even fit it perfectly, but I'm still glad I got it. It makes the whole thing - crib and mattress look more cohesive I think. Without it there's no hardware showing but it's just a vast nothingness under the mattress.

So yeah, not a necessity, but certainly a nice-ty.

ETA: ours goes with our curtains and rug as well :)

My MIL is making us a crib skirt to match our curtains (I bought the fabric online). Since we won't be using bumper pads I feel like the crib will need a little something to dress it up. I don't think they are necessary though - I have seen some gorgeous rooms online lately with just the crib, mattress and fitted sheet.

I don't know if this should be gear or home...

Do you use a crib skirt on your crib? Is it necessary? I think they are generally kind of silly looking, but I peaked under some of the ones on display in the crib section at BBB and I guess some cribs have hardware showing. We haven't set up the crib yet so I don't actually know what it will look like (obviously, it had a skirt and matching bumper on display in the store). Wondering if most people use them, or the stores just display them that way to get you to buy the whole bedding set, the way they have fluffy bumpers on every crib.

I also cannot believe how expensive some of them are! For so little fabric, you are charging $100 or more? What? The PBK ones that I like are still $60 and up.
